Via Gianlu prides itself on offering a different style of the Italian cuisine as to what Melbourne is used to. Whilst there is no shortage of Italian institutions in Melbourne, many are unfamiliar with the vibrant street food scene which is where we come in. 

The conception of Via Gianlu came from the owner, Gianluca having a deep passion and strong connection to his heritage and ancestors. After many trips to Italy and many years studying the culture and food of the Italian people, Gianluca understood that Melburnians weren't yet exposed to this other branch of Italian food, which provides something for everyone.

After many years providing traditional catering services, Gianluca took a gamble on a retro looking food van to offering artisan focaccia panini known as Schiacciate and put together a southern Italian inspired menu.
